Auli Winter Skiing Festival

The Auli Winter Skiing Festival is organized annually by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department and the Winter Games Association of India at Auli, one of the best skiing destinations in Asia. Located at an altitude of 2,500-3,050 metres with a 3 km long slope, Auli offers spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Kamet, and other Himalayan peaks. The festival features national-level skiing competitions including slalom, giant slalom, and cross-country events. Professional and amateur categories are held. Snowboarding demonstrations, snow sculpture competitions, and ice-skating events add variety. Skiing and snowboarding training camps are organized for beginners. Equipment rental is available on site. The ropeway from Joshimath to Auli offers stunning aerial views of the snow-covered mountains.
