Kausani Tea and Cultural Festival

The Kausani Tea and Cultural Festival celebrates the unique tea heritage of this Himalayan hill station that Mahatma Gandhi called the "Switzerland of India". Kausani is home to the Uttarakhand Tea Development Board's organic tea gardens that produce some of India's finest specialty teas. The festival features guided tours of the tea plantations, tea tasting sessions of local varieties, and workshops on tea processing. Cultural evenings showcase Kumaoni folk music, Jhora dance, and traditional storytelling. Art camps for painters inspired by the 300 km panoramic view of the Himalayan range (including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli peaks) are organized. Photography walks, nature trails, and yoga sessions with mountain views complete the experience.
