About the Trek

The legendary Skeleton Lake trek at 5,029m, Roopkund is famous for the hundreds of ancient human skeletal remains visible at the bottom of the glacial lake. A challenging trek through stunning bugyals and rugged terrain.

Heavy warm clothing, trekking shoes, crampons, gaiters, sleeping bag rated -10C, trekking poles, sunglasses, sunscreen, first aid kit, altitude sickness medicine

Permits Required

Currently restricted by Uttarakhand government. Check latest status before planning. When open, forest permit required from Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.
